It is always exciting but a little intimidating to tackle packing up our supplies for a mission trip.
We met last night to get our shipping crates ready for the trip. Our chore is to pack everything into the boxes so that all the crates weigh less than 50 lbs. We were able to accomplish this by picking and choosing what would go into each crate, weigh it and shift things around until the weights are correct.
Upon entering the supply room, several of the members were thinking there was no way to get all that into the crates. It all worked out perfectly and we have 15 crates ready to go. Thanks to the team for working so hard last night.
After going over some last minute details last night we are ready to depart at 6 pm Thursday.
The team members are getting excited as well as the missionaries in Brazil.

Davis Lar Trip 2008
Bountyland Baptist Church is planning a trip to the Davis Lar Orphanage in Forteleza, Brazil during July 24- August 3.
We have 15 team members including 6 teens and 2 members of Taylors First Baptist Church.
The team will work with the kids in creating a scrapbook containing whatever they have about themselves. Many of the kids come to the orphanage without knowing their parents or their birthdays. This will help them to have an identity that they can carry with them.
We will also be teaching first aid, cpr and fire safety to the kids, house moms and staff.
Other team members will perform maintenance and teach shop skills to the kids.
