Thank You

We would like to say ‘thank you’ to all who have been praying for the team, encouraging us and contributing financially. A great big thanks goes to all the folks who have been putting change in the containers for “Change My World.” We have received nearly $410 so far and will continue to accept change until the time we go to Brazil. Oh, yes and we accept green backs also.

Progress Report

May will be a busy month for the team. We had a half day training session with all the team on May 3rd.The team has several fund raising activities scheduled and a lot of behind the scenes activities will take place. We will continue making plans for our work there, purchasing our tickets and making visa applications.

Economic Slowdown affects the Davis Lar

Each time we put gasoline in our cars or go through the checkout line at the grocery store we can see first hand how our dollar is purchasing less than the last time. Our eyes were opened to the reality that our dollars are not going as far in Brazil when we received a newsletter from Mark Anderson this week. He said “I was looking at the numbers over the last 2 years and found that with inflation and the falling dollar, the value of our support has dropped 24% since 1/1/07 and 37.6% since 1/1/06. The dollar has dropped 3.5% in value just this 1st quarter. Please pray to our Lord to help us in this. These figures with the above doubled expenses make times difficult. Yet we serve a mighty God and know He will provide.” The double expenses refer to a new ministry for the Andersons who have opened their home to 12 of the older kids from the LAR. They will be living there while they attend school and participate in apprenticeship programs to help them become productive citizens.
Please pray with them as they start this new ministry with the kids. Also, please consider helping them financially in any way you can.
